Instructor- Preschool Classroom

Essential Job Duties (not all inclusive):

  • Oversees work of Instructor Assistants, field experience, volunteers, student teachers assigned and
    others assisting in the instructional program.
  • Provides instruction for assigned class of students who have developmental disabilities. Instruction includes all major areas of development, based upon student’s needs, curriculum and IEP goals.
  • Conducts assessments of each student’s current status in relation to State Content Standards Curriculum, IEP goals and any other requirement by ODE.
  • Develops systematic instructional procedures and methodologies for each student based on the IEP and individual learning characteristics and needs of each student.
  • Implements instructional activities and procedures to assist students in attaining individualized goals.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field
  • ODE License in both Early Childhood Intervention Specialist P-3 and Early Childhood P-3
  • Valid State of Ohio driver’s license

⇒Resident/ICF Worker (FT and PT)

Essential Job Duties

  • Assists in maintaining a safe, clean, and orderly residential environment guided by the Shift Manager.
  • Assists individual(s) in completing personal housekeeping functions. Will maintain a safe environment by following all emergency policies/procedures.
  • Is responsible for monitoring and being continuously aware of whereabouts of individuals on assigned wing or wings. Completes census logs and daily documentation sheets including assignment sheets and Intershift logs.
  • Assists in compiling individual’s clothing, residential and supply and equipment inventories.
  • Assumes responsibility in carrying out all areas of programmatic training skills (i.e., independent living, self-help, socialization, leisure, health care) under the guidance of the Habilitation Manager.
  • Completes all documentation on individual training files as determined by the interdisciplinary team (i.e., delivers programs, keeps programmatic data and enters such data in documentation notes in training files).
  • Completes necessary residential record keeping forms (i.e., accident reports, incident reports, daily census reports, seizure reports.)

 Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Type “A” Class “D” Ohio Operator’s license or equivalent

Physical Requirements:

⇒Bus Drivers and Bus Attendants

Essential Job Duties for Bus Drivers:

    • Observes and complies with all traffic laws and safety regulations and policies of ODE and LCBDD/Deepwood governing the operations of the bus.
    • Conducts pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus and follows assigned route and maintains time schedule.
    • Able to be trained in the use of the lift and tie-down systems for individuals who use wheelchairs.
    • Cleans and services the bus, which includes sweeping, fueling, checking oil and coolant levels, and reporting any needed repairs to mechanics.
    • Develops an emergency evacuation plan and conducts emergency evacuation drills as required.

Essential Job Duties for Bus Attendants:

    • Maintains safety precautions when individuals are boarding and departing the bus and must be able to be trained in the use of the lift and tie-down systems for individuals who use wheelchairs.
    • Maintains reasonable order during bus operation to ensure the safety of all individuals.
    • Knowledgeable of the route should the Bus Drive need help.
    • Maintains the cleanliness of the inside of the bus.

Requirements:

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Drivers must hold CDL Class B Authorization and Endorsements P-S and must successfully complete the ODE pre-service class within 90 days.

⇒Provider Resource Coordinator

Essential Job Duties (not all inclusive):

    • Provide consultation services to waiver and ICF providers as assigned, in the areas of training, operations and culture to in order to assist providers with training needs, recruitment and retention
    • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of HCBS waiver, licensed facility and ICF rules and regulations that effect provider operations and training.
    • Serve as a contact for all waiver and ICF provider inquiries regarding training and operations
    • Coordinate and facilitate training sessions for all providers and DSPs as well as maintain a comprehensive understanding of training requirements for waiver and ICF providers, assist with locating and accessing needed training, and assess and identify training needs for DSPs as it pertains to overall processes, best practices in person-centered planning and service delivery and rule requirements

Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Education, Social Work or related field
    • Meets requirements set forth by DODD rule
    • Valid State of Ohio driver’s license
    • Professional experience working in HCBS waiver and/or ICF settings including knowledge and implementation of applicable rules
    • Practical work experience providing training and developing training programs and content

⇒Recreation Specialist

Essential Job Duties:

    • Develop plans and supervise recreation programs for individuals served by Agency Programs.
    • Plan and implement recreation activities with direct care staff at Intermediate Care Facility.
    • Assist in the Special Olympics Lake County Program when needed.
    • Organize and supervise volunteers for Special Olympics events.
    • Develop, schedule and supervise weekend and evening recreation/leisure Agency programs.
    • Schedule and monitor use of the Recreation Center for the purposes of utilization of the facility and its equipment.
    • Assist in providing direct supervision of individuals involved in community programs.

 

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation, Activity Therapy, Adaptive Physical Education, or other related field.

Certification/Licensure:

Possess or be eligible for Adult Services Certification from LCBDD and coursework in ART XI of Agreement

Possession of CPR and First Aid Certification

Certified in Medication Administration, as requested

Certified by DODD in Community Integration

Possession of a valid Ohio Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)

One year professional experience with individuals who have developmental disabilities

FULLTIME and PARTTIME RESIDENT WORKER: Provide direct care for and interaction with individuals with developmental disabilities in residential or work settings. MAINTENANCE REPAIRMAN SUBSTITUTE: Maintenance, including basic carpentry, plumbing and machinery repairs; painting; moving and removing heavy items; mowing, trimming, snow removal and other outdoor maintenance activities. Our employment criterion includes a driving record review.

FOOD SERVICE WORKER SUBSTITUTE: Assist in preparation of meals, packaging meals for transport to satellite locations, storing leftovers & supplies, cleaning and sanitizing of food preparation area. Day, evening and weekend hours.

Starting Pay: $10.00 per hour.


BUS DRIVER SUBSTITUTE: Drivers must have Commercial Driver’s License along with school bus & passenger endorsements. Early morning and afternoon hours. Our employment criterion includes driving record review.

BUS ATTENDANT SUBSTITUTE: Bus Attendants assist individuals with developmental disabilities entering and exiting school buses. Early morning and afternoon hours.

NURSING SUBSTITUTE LPN & RN’S: Provide nursing services for individuals with developmental disabilities in residential, work or school settings. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts. Please include all shifts available to work on application.
Requirements: LPN or RN license.
Starting Pay: $20.00


COMMUNITY SUPPORT SPECIALIST SUBSTITUTE: Assist individuals with developmental disabilities in a work setting. Duties include assisting adults with work related tasks, direct care, and appropriate training.
Requirements: High School Diploma or G.E.D.
Starting Pay: $10.50 per hour.


JOB COACH CES SUBSTITUTE: Provide supervision and training for consumers at enclave work sites to ensure work standards are met. Responsibilities include; driving 14 passenger vehicle, training consumers, monitoring quality of work, and training consumers to conduct themselves in accordance with the business standards. INSTRUCTOR ASSISTANT SUBSTITUTE: Under the direction of assigned instructor, assists in instructional programs for assigned class of  DD students. Assists in conducting specific individual, small, and large group activities. May transport student/s in accordance with Board Policy.
Requirements: High School Diploma or G.E.D. plus 2 years of college with course work in area of Special Education and/or Early Childhood Education
Starting Pay: $68.25 per day
