Our Nursing Department is searching for Substitute Nurses who will care for individuals with developmental disabilities in residential, work or school settings.

Essential Job Duties

  • Provide nursing services on assigned shift and designated program area.
  • Maintain communication between shifts and program areas as applicable.
  • Administer medications and treatments as ordered.
  • Provide care for ill/injured individuals, including intervention in emergency situations.
  • Observe and evaluate individual behavioral/health changes and report appropriately.
  • Maintain accurate nurse observation records and medical information records.
  • Process physician orders and maintain nursing records in good order.
  • Complete Incident Reports.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all individual information.
  • Assure security and complete count of scheduled drugs.
  • Assist in orienting new nurses.
  • May participate in the IP process.
  • Provide in-service training to staff, individuals,  families, and guardians.
  • Provide first aid to staff if needed.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and communicate need for housekeeping and maintenance.
  • Record and report immunization status as required.
  • Provide notification of possible exposure to contagious disease and provides symptoms of disease.

Hours & Job Location: 

  • Assigned shift (1st, 2nd or 3rd) in designated program area.


  • LPN or RN license
