Board -Operated Adult Service Programs

COVID-19 (coronavirus) Update 03-16-2020

As the COVID-19 situation continues to evolve, the LCBDD/Deepwood Administration Team continues to vigilantly monitor all directives issued by the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities, the Lake County General Health District, the Ohio Department of Health, and Governor DeWine’s office.

At this time, there are no directives regarding Adult Service program closures.

Accordingly, the LCBDD/Deepwood is keeping all Board-operated Adult Service programs open for those individuals who choose to attend.

We appreciate that some families/guardians may choose to keep their loved ones home, or Private Providers may choose to keep individuals home.

However, we also know that there are families/guardians who cannot safely maintain their loved ones at home 24/7 for extended periods of time; and, that some Private Providers are experiencing staffing shortages such that they cannot safely staff 24/7

Until otherwise directed, we are staying open, with many safeguards in place, so that individuals and families without 24/7 care, have a M-F daytime option.

We greatly appreciate everyone’s continued understanding, patience, and support.

Respectfully,

Elfie Roman, Superintendent
