New Inclusive Playground Opens in Mentor

We’ve seen many times over how Lake County embraces diversity and inclusion in respect to social opportunities, as well as employment options, for the benefit of individuals who have developmental disabilities. We applaud all involved in the newest community endeavor — an inclusive playground, located at Mentor Civic Center on Munson Road.

The playground officially opened on September 29. The ribbon cutting ceremony was an example of the very positive relationship the County Board has with city officials and departments, and their willingness and interest to provide inclusive experiences for people with special needs.

The new playground is a great option for children and adults who receive services from the County Board and a chance for people of all abilities to interact and learn from each other. We hope you have the chance to visit the new playground. If so, send a photo to info@lakebdd.org so we can see your smiling face.
