Do You Want to Build a Scarecrow?

October 29th marks the return of the “Footloose Friday Dances” and this one is sure to be spooktacular (see event for more details)! After a year without dancing, we want to celebrate by displaying as many scarecrows as possible at the Lake County Board of DD/Deepwood.

Recreation Services is asking YOU, yes YOU, to use some creativity in order to make the Agency look spooktacular!

Our goal is to have representation from all departments at the County Board, Private Day Programs, Residential Programs, families and individuals across Lake County. We will display the scarecrows all throughout our grounds.

Begin designing your own scarecrow NOW! Dig through old clothes or use things laying around the house that will highlight your creativity. Hit up Pinterest boards or do a quick Google search for ideas. Wherever you find inspiration, we’d love for everyone to start ASAP so we can see what you create!

When complete, please contact the Recreation Department at 440-350-5165 so your clever, cute, and captivating scarecrow can be picked up and put on display.

All scarecrows must be submitted by Thursday, October 28, 2021. Winners will be announced at the Footloose Friday Dance on October 29th.
