Inclement Weather & Transportation Information

October 5, 2026

Dear Parents, Guardians, & Providers:

Even though we are still enjoying some beautiful fall weather, winter will soon be upon us, so preparing for potential closings is important.

Any weather-related or emergency closing will be announced on radio stations 89.7 FM, 90.3 FM, 103.3 FM, and 104.9 FM and on local TV stations WVIZ/PBS Channel 25, WKYC Channel 3, News 5 Cleveland, and Fox 8. The announcement may state “No Morning Transportation” but could keep the Programs open. For individuals who use Laketran or other transportation services, please check directly with the transportation provider to see if their transportation services are operating on these “No Morning Transportation” days.

Please remember that the only authorized and accurate source of information about program closings or LCBDD transportation service will be available on a recorded message that can be heard by calling 440-350-5299 or 440-918-5299.

In the event of an emergency or inclement conditions that require early dismissal, the parents of LCBDD transportation riders who require a person to be present at their home will be notified by telephone or Tiger Connect prior to the transportation of their son or daughter. Please be sure that the school, adult programs, transportation department, and/or private transportation provider have your correct home, work, and emergency telephone numbers for contacting you.

If you desire additional information or clarification, please feel free to contact Gloria Kishton (LCBDD Transportation Department) at 440-350-5220 or 440-918-5220, Liz Miller (Broadmoor School) at 440-602-1000 or 440-392-1000, Johanna Patena (Willoughby Works) at 440-269-2180, Chris Trombley (Community Employment Services) at 440-918-1050, Tricia Hurst (JCR Imagine Program) at 440-918-1717.

Sincerely,

Elfie Roman, LCBDD/Deepwood Superintendent
