The King Family Benefits From Early Intervention Services

The King family shared how Early Intervention (EI) Services through the Lake County Board of Developmental Disabilities / Deepwood’s helped their daughter Olivia. Read below to learn more of their story …

“Olivia’s time in EI with Miss Krystie (Speech Language Pathologist) has been a life-changing opportunity. Our shy one-and-a-half year old is now a confident, outgoing two-and-a-half year old. Her points and grunts have given way to phrases and verbally communicated thoughts. As parents, we are better able to meet her needs; and the tips, tricks, and strategies we’ve learned through the program will help us in continuing to grow her communication skills. We are so grateful for this program and the doors it has opened for the future!”

It is uplifting to hear stories such as this one shared by the King Family to highlight the importance of EI.

Guidance and resources are provided to children through Broadmoor School, which is a part of Lake County Board of Development Disabilities/Deepwood. Children ages 0-3 years in Lake County who have been evaluated and referred through Help Me Grow are eligible to receive services through Broadmoor School for Early Intervention.
