Emrett is Thriving with Early Intervention

It’s such a joy when families share how Early Intervention (EI) enriches their lives and empowers young children. As a Provider to the Ohio Statewide EI System, the focus of EI is to assist a family in meeting the unique needs of their child. Family-focused resources and supports are provided in naturally occurring learning environments, routinely at a child’s home.

Read below to hear from Lindsay, Emrett’s mom, about how EI and supports from Developmental Specialist Jill Faber (Lake Therapy Support) make a world of difference …

“Our son Emrett is 26 months old. We started EI when he was 13 months old as he was struggling to meet his gross motor milestones due to significant hypotonia. Through the bi-weekly physical therapy sessions and communications with Jill, Emrett went from army crawling to walking by 18 months. He is now physically thriving. He loves to run, jump, climb and hop! We signed him up for the Lil’ Kickers program and he is having a blast!

Emrett was not the only one who benefited from EI. As first-time parents, we were overwhelmed in the beginning. The support and encouragement from Jill gave us the confidence to help our son reach his goals.  We will be forever grateful for this program.”
