Annual Guardianship Training Available April 2026
Are you a Guardian appointed by Lake County Probate Court?
If yes, you are required to obtain at least 3 hours of continuing education credits each year. We’re here to help! The Lake County Board of Developmental Disabilities/Deepwood is a Host Site for these classes and will present the courses as offered through the Ohio Supreme Court.
April 2026 Class Topic: Interacting with Courts
By walking through the general purpose and structure of the state court system – as well as the specific structure, procedures, services, and personnel in probate court – guardians discover how positive interactions can make them more effect.
As a result of this course, participants will be able to:
- Explain the structure and functions of the probate court within the Ohio judiciary;
- Follow guidelines and best practices when communicating with judicial officers and court personnel;
- Describe the purpose and procedures of court hearings association with guardianship; and
- Interact effectively with the court to serve the individual under guardianship.
