Aktion Club Plastic Bag Recycling Initiative
Are you looking for a way to recycle soft-plastic items? Well, we have the answer!
Now through December 2026, the Lake County Aktion Club will be collecting plastic bags for recycling, with a goal of collecting 1,000 pounds for an opportunity to place a Trex bench in the community!
What can be recycled? The following are potential donations; all plastic must be clean, dry, and free of food residue:
- Grocery bags
- Bread bags
- Bubble wrap
- Cry cleaning bags
- Newspaper sleeves
- Ice bags
- Plastic shipping envelopes
- Ziploc and reusable food storage bags
- Cereal bags
- Case overwrap (ie., use to wrap a case of water bottles)
- Salt bags
- Pallet wrap and stretch film
- Wood pellet bags
- Produce bags
Collection Location:
Lake County Board of Developmental Disabilities’ Administration Building, located at 8121 Deepwood Boulevard in Mentor, Ohio 44060. Items can be dropped off in the reception lobby during regular business hours, Monday – Friday 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM.
