Broadmoor School works closely with families of children from birth to age 3 years who are currently in need of specialized services and are referred for County Board services from the Ohio Statewide Early Intervention (EI) System.

As a Provider to the Ohio Statewide EI System, the focus of Early Intervention is to assist a family in meeting the unique needs of their child.

This program provides:

  • Family-focused resources and supports in naturally-occurring learning environments.
  • Services in a family’s everyday routines, experiences, and activities.
  • Parental involvement in all aspects of their child’s program.
  • Ongoing assessment of family and child outcomes.

Early Intervention is key to assessing, identifying, and assisting with developmental disabilities. Such services include child and family support from certified Developmental Specialists, as well as therapy provided by licensed professional Speech, Physical, and Occupational Therapists.

Our staff works with young children who have delays in cognitive, physical, communication, social, and/or emotional development. Services are based on the needs of the child and family as identified through an Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) for children from birth to three years old.

EI is grounded in the philosophy that young children learn best from familiar people in familiar settings. Every family in our program has an EI team that consists of an Ohio EI Service Coordinator, Providers, and the family of the child served by the County Board. The team engages with the child in their home or other places the family spends time. The team strives to develop, implement, and continually review an Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) using existing supports to enhance the child’s learning and development.
