COVID-19 Update: A Message from Superintendent Elfie Roman & Asst. Superintendent Ann Mahler

As you may know, Lake County was moved to Risk Level 3, or Red Alert Level yesterday by Ohio’s COVID-19 Public Health Advisory System.  This means that Lake County is experiencing high levels of exposure and spread of the virus, and Lake County residents are instructed to limit activities as much as possible.  What does this mean for LCBDD programs and services?  At this time nothing changes in regard to the daily operations of any programs and services.  ALL programs and services remain OPEN.  We will continue to be diligent in our temperature checks, face coverings, social distancing and handwashing.  All trips/activities planned for the future will be closely evaluated by management to determine the risk/benefit of such trip/activity.  If you have questions about any program or service, please contact that program’s Director.

We strongly encourage all individuals, families, staff and Providers to closely review LCGHD Ron Graham’s news release recommending that all Lake County residents decrease their in-person activities and attendance at large gatherings. As we approach the holiday season, Commissioner Graham cautions that “even small gatherings among family and friends increase the risk of spreading COVID”.

We implore everyone’s cooperation and vigilance in following these recommendations. We all need to join together in safeguarding the health and well-being of the individuals we serve.
