The annual Torch Run means that the Special Olympics Ohio Summer Games are just around the corner1 As tradition has it, the Special Olympics Lake County Coordinator Chris Bundy teamed up with local police to escort members of the Special Olympics cycling team while carrying the Flame of Hope through Lake County on June 10, 2025.

Special Olympic cyclists will make their way with police escort from a local Fire Station in Mentor, Ohio to the Deepwood Industries Willoughby Works program area at the LCBDD building located at 2100 Joseph Lloyd Parkway in Willoughby, Ohio for a festive gathering.
The Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Ohio (LETR) is a volunteer movement that was established by members of the law enforcement community to support Special Olympics. Each year, officers carry the Flame of Hope along with athletes across the state. The flame symbolizes courage, perseverance, and inclusion.
