Our Agency is searching for Full-Time Mechanic.

Essential Job Duties (not all inclusive):

  • Performs maintenance on agency vehicles in accordance with the preventative maintenance program.
  • Responsible for maintaining such records as hours worked, work performed, and cost of parts in compliance with preventative maintenance program.
  • Inspects daily maintenance request forms and makes necessary repairs to put the vehicles back in safe operating condition.
  • Performs motor vehicle repairs, oil changes, tire changes, lift maintenance/repair and checking radio system malfunctions.
  • Performs minor body repairs which can be made in the agency garage.
  • Assists Head Mechanic/Mechanics with maintenance/repairs as requested.
  • Performs maintenance/repairs on transmissions, differentials and engines as requires.
  • Assists drivers as required with vehicles.
  • Advises Head Mechanic when major repairs are required. Advises Head Mechanic of parts and supplies needed.
  • Creates and completes work orders through computerized bus maintenance program.

Requirements

Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent

Certification/Licensure: Certification in Mechanical Repairs. Valid CDL Class B w/S&P Endorsement

Experience: Minimum 3 years mechanical. Demonstrated ability to pass at seventy-five percent (75%) each ASE test in diesel engines, gas engines, air brakes and heating/air conditioning.

Hours & Job Location: 

Monday – Friday 6 AM – 2 PM; hours may vary.
