COVID-19 ( Coronavirus) Guidance 03-11-2020
The Lake County Board of Developmental Disabilities (LCBDD) /Deepwood’s Administration Team has been closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation with guidance from the Lake County General Health District (LCGHD), Ohio Department of Health (ODH), Centers for Disease Control (CDC), and other official sources.
Accordingly, all Board-operated programs and services remain open at this time, with the health and well-being of the individuals we serve and of our staff being of utmost priority. We remain vigilant about screening individuals for any signs of illness, installing hand sanitizer stations in multi-ple locations in all facilities, and thoroughly disinfecting our facilities with the safest and most effec-tive products available. All staff have been trained in Universal Precaution protocols and we strong-ly encourage that these protocols are implemented by staff and individuals served (with assistance of staff, as needed) not only in our facilities, but in home environments as well.
Specifically…
Wash hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based sanitizer.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
Cover coughs or sneezes with a tissue that is immediately discarded in trash.
Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
Although Board programs and services remain open, all Extra-curricular and Community Events
will be cancelled effective immediately (March 11, 2020) until further notice. Events will be
rescheduled as possible, with rescheduled dates and information posted on the LCBDD/Deepwood website and social media sites.

The LCBDD/Deepwood Administration Team will continue to closely monitor the evolving COVID-19 situation and implement guidance and directives from LCGHD, ODH, and CDC, including the vital advice that we do not panic or create panic for the individuals we serve.
Respectfully,
Elfie Roman, Superintendent
