Early Intervention Services Helped Daphne Flourish!

The Cartwright family shared how Early Intervention (EI) Services helped their daughter Daphne. Read below to hear more about Daphne’s journey from her parents Frank and Sarah …

“Early Intervention has been a huge part of our lives for over a year now. We were first referred by our pediatrician after Daphne was having some gross motor delays. Her assessment showed she was behind in not only gross motor skills, but fine motor and speech as well. Upon further testing, Daphne got diagnosed with Autism in June of 2023. Early Intervention has been a huge help in discovering Daphne’s strengths, and then implementing learning techniques that resonate with her. Our visits from Developmental Specialist Lauren through Broadmoor School were always met with a smile, and Daphne connected so well with her.

Along with Daphne, we also grew as parents and teachers to help propel Daphne in the right direction. As time went on, her vocabulary expanded, her daily mobility became more stable, and her positive attitude sparked as she grew more confident. Our absolute favorite moment was when she finally started understanding imaginative play and started interacting with her animals and dolls. We love hearing her belly laugh! We are so grateful for the opportunity to work with Lauren, and with everyone who believes early intervention is key. Daphne would not be where she is today without you!”

It is amazing stories such as this one shared by the Cartwright family that highlight the importance of EI. To learn more about EI services, please visit https://lakebdd.org/early-intervention-program/.
