Recognize & Celebrate Direct Support Professionals
The Lake County Board of Developmental Disabilities / Deepwood would like to take a moment to acknowledge the hard work and efforts of Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) in providing services and supporting the individuals with developmental disabilities who are such important members of the Lake County community.
DSP Recognition Week, which began on September 11 and ends on September 17, is a time when we shine the spotlight on the dedicated and innovative workforce who are the heart and soul of supports for the individuals we serve. DSPs may work for an Agency, support a loved one, or simply do this work to make a difference in our community. It is important that they know how much their work is recognized and appreciated.
We are aware that during the last few years, it has continued to be increasingly more difficult to provide such a high level of services and supports. The ongoing commitment and hard work of DSPs continues to raise the bar and prove that Lake County DSPs can persevere through any circumstance. It is commendable that, despite all obstacles, the DSPs who work in Lake County have continued to ensure the health and welfare of individuals, while also promoting a high quality of life.
While DSP Recognition Week is only a small window of time, we are grateful for all that DSPs do throughout the entire year. We are so pleased that DSPs are a part of the extended Deepwood family! Join us in celebrating Direct Support Professionals and the positive impact they create in communities each and every day.
