Speech Therapy Adds Value for Atlas

It’s such a joy when families share how Early Intervention (EI) enriches their lives and empowers young children. As a Provider to the Ohio Statewide EI System, the focus of EI is to assist a family in meeting the unique needs of their child. Family-focused resources and supports are provided in naturally occurring learning environments, routinely at a child’s home.

Atlas lives in Mentor with his mom, dad, and boxer Rex. Read below to hear from Stephanie, Atlas’ mom, about how EI and supports from Speech Therapist Krystie make a positive impact …

Being an intervention specialist, as well as his mom, adds perspective on the importance of early intervention. When we noticed he wasn’t saying any words when he was one year old, I asked his pediatrician about speech. The decision was jointly made to see what he was doing at 15 months. At 15 months, he still didn’t have any words, so we decided to move forward with speech therapy and we are so glad we did! Atlas has made so much progress working with Ms. Krystie and now he is talking our ears off!

Watching his confidence grow as he is able to ask for what he wants has been magical! He is a little ray of sunshine! We are so thankful for the County Board of Developmental Disabilities and Speech Therapist Ms. Krystie.

Our family loves to travel, play outside, and visit Disneyland! Atlas currently loves Toys Story, dogs, and all vehicles.”
