Join the Lake County Board of Developmental Disabilities/Deepwood Transition Services Department on July 10 from 5:30 -7:00 PM for an ice cream social to learn more about our services for youth ages 14-22 years in an inviting and engaging environment. We are excited to invite you to our inaugural Hero Day, which takes place on Sunday, July 13, 2025 from 1:00 – 3:00 PM at the Lake County Board of Developmental Disabilities, 8121 Deepwood Boulevard, Mentor, Ohio 44060.We are hosting an event to facilitate positive connections in times of non-crisis with the expectation that it will lead to better outcomes in the event of turmoil or an emergency situation. Anyone eligible for county board services and their families/guardians are invited. You will be able to interact with local fire departments, law enforcement, crisis agencies, and other community partners in a fun, educational, and interactive experience. We envision fire trucks, police cars, information tables, and interactive displays. Are you a Guardian appointed by the Probate Court? If yes, you are required to obtain at least 3 hours of continuing education credits each year. We’re here to help! The Lake County Board of DD/Deepwood is Host Site for these classes and will present the courses as offered through the Ohio Supreme Court. Attend in person on July 14, 2025 from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM at the LCBDD Vocational Guidance Center (VGC) Training Room, 8121 Deepwood Blvd, Mentor, Ohio 44060. RSVP to 440-602-1025.

Join us for a fun evening of dancing and friendship at the Footloose Friday Dance Boot Scootin' Summer Bash on August 1, 2025 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Lake Metroparks Painesville Township Park, 1025 Hardy Road, Painesville, Ohio 44077. Admission is FREE. Refreshments and drinks will be available. Participants must be at least 18 years old and eligible to receive county board services. RSVP required.
