We are searching for an Autism Speech and Language Pathologist.

Essential Job Duties (not all inclusive):

  • Provides reports of screenings and evaluations and develops documentation systems to assess consumer progress in the delivery of speech and language programs.
  • Upon referral/approval administers speech and language screenings/evaluations, as well as audiometric assessments.
  • Upon referral/approval participates in the ongoing interdisciplinary evaluation of individuals as necessary and appropriate; evaluates the individual; identifies areas of need in speech, hearing and language development; and develops, implements and evaluates individual program plans to address identified needs, using methods of applied behavioral analysis, as well as TEACCH methods.
  • Upon referral/approval renders speech and language development services directly to consumers and indirectly by working with other personnel through instructing, training, implementing, monitoring and reviewing direct care personnel in the delivery of speech and language programs.

 Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree in Speech and Hearing Therapy/Pathology
  • Must have a State Board of Speech Pathology & Audiology and an American Speech & Hearing Association licensure
  • Valid Ohio Driver’s License

Experience:

  • Demonstrates strong working knowledge of current ASD specific computer applications and programs, Smart Boards, iPad applications for Autism, and Board Maker
  • TEACCH and/or ABA certified*
  • One year experience in teaching persons with autism, speech, and hearing impairments*
  • One year experience in assessment and evaluation of individuals with autism in a vocational setting*

*Candidates who do not have one year experience will be considered; TEACCH/ABA can be obtained after hire.

 Hours & Job Location: 

  • 30 hours/week in Mentor, Ohio (Benefits eligible)
