The mission of the Lake County Board of Developmental Disabilities/Deepwood is to EMPOWER individuals with developmental disabilities to ENGAGE in activities that ENRICH their lives and contribute to their community. Our mission helps us achieve our vision, which is to offer Lake County citizens the highest-quality, most-inclusive, collaborative, and person-centered services and supports available within their resources.
We strive to uphold our mission throughout everything we do and each decision we make. Community members, local organizations, businesses, County Board employees, as well as the individuals we serve and their families, help us succeed in carrying out our mission.

Funding
The LCBDD/Deepwood’s services are funded by federal and state dollars, plus local tax dollars. In accordance with Ohio Revised Code, the LCBDD programs and operations are governed by a seven-member board, of which five members are appointed by the Lake County Commissioners and two by the Lake County Probate Judge.
